1964 to 1978 & 1980A new feature of these plates was that the date was embossed vertically down the left side. Also to combat mis-use each year was colour syncronised with the colour of the registation labels. This system was meant to be uniform across Australia.from D-1 to D-99 for 1964 and from D-1 to D-100 for 1965 to 1977 |
1979The 1979 issue came in white on brown and required an extra long plate to be made for #100 so as to accomodate the extra digit. |
1981For the first time dealer plates were fixed to three digits by including leading zeros as required. |
